Lauren's Sleepy Rambles

Oh hai blogger! It’s been a while has it not? And yes, I’ve missed you of course I have...we should catch up and since this is basically a one-way conversation I’d better start...
So, summer eh? For once it didn’t feel like a matter of “Oh hello summer...wait where’d you go, why am I in my school uniform again and why are the leaves falling off the trees?” but I only think that’s because it’s been one of the most stress filled summers of my life, and there’s no way that’d be allowed to go by quickly eh? So I start school again on Tuesday and as per I’m not looking forward to it in the least...not that I ever am, but this year especially! (Don’t ask...no really, don’t)
So over the holiday’s I’ve um...been on holiday, which is kinda what’s expected no? But yes, I went to Tenby in Wales and it was beautiful and all that and I argued with my family (a necessity on my holidays) and went to the beach and went into the town and did things you’re expected to do on holiday. I also got a tan, but that’s not something I usually do...yet it kinda suits me, but oh well ;)
Uuuum...I’m rubbish with free-writes, but I’ll probably get told off if I just shove another facebook note in here...or will I? YES! I will, so no Lauren, you’ll just have to write something like a good little blogger.
I was about to ask what you’d want to read about, but this is a one way conversation (I’m not the best at this really)
Also over my summer I...went to Blackpool with a friend of mine, went on a few picnics...didn’t do much more.

I’ve gotten obsessed with the BBC version of Sherlock (Moffat and Gatiss...um durh!) with the gorgeous gorgeous Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman who both play their character fantastically! Cumberbatch reminds me of Matt Smith in the way he portrays Sherlock and the way Matt plays The Doctor (did that make sense? I tried to make it sound posh and I don’t think it worked...)

When I was in Tenby I attempted to swim to America...it didn’t really work, I pride myself on being a good swimmer, but even I’m not that good...plus, even if I did make it all I’d have to wear would be my bikini...and I don’t want to have to hitch-hike to Chicago in nothing more than a flowery ‘kini...although I’d probably get a few guys stopping...but NO! It was just illogical, plus, I’d quite cold...

I think I’ll stop now, before this gets any weirder (I shouldn't be allowed to blog when tired)

Oh! And I got new glasses! http://second-lover.deviantart.com/#/d2xp4zg lookee!!!

Virginia's Summer Vacation Recap= LOADS of Concerts

Hello again blog! Its been a while hasn't it? Well summer vacation is almost over and I have accomplished just about nothing on my list of things to do. I did, however get to attend quite a few concerts. So lets recap:
Go see Iron Maiden. Check
Go see Motley Crue. Check
Go see Ozzy Osbourne. Check.
Alrighty then! Seems my work this summer is done!
So we're all finally getting back into the bloggin' and (in my case at least) video making mood :)
I miss having something to do every day of my life... ok ok, every couple of days. I missed this thing.
If you hadn't noticed, this is just another free write week so I guess I can take this chance to ramble on and on endlessly :)
So school is going to start in about two weeks so its the final stretch of my summer vacation. I did play some CoD and I did watch movies like I promised myself that I would so I suppose that in a sense I did do what I needed to do. I also went to registration and I found out I have the most cursed lunch period in the history of lunch periods. i have lunch 8th period. Just.. ugh!
Ok, enough rambling I think.

So I have decided that this school year I will stay organized as much as I can... but lets not even start there. I plan to keep up with my school work and still some how manage to write this blog post, make videos, and update my personal blog and why do I have a feeling like I'm going to be super stressed out? Oh yeah, I also want to get a job this year! That explains it.. eh, I'll plan it out later!

So lately, I've been obsessing over music, and by music I mean Marilyn Manson, Guns N Roses, Iron Maiden and Motley Crue. What? It isn't what the cool kids are listening to? Huh, oh well! So yes, I have been obsessing with these guys and yes, they are on the most played on my iPod.
I should also take this time to mention the fact that I huge plans for this school year but I have no idea how to go about em... I foresee myself begging Adrienne for help later this year. I also see my caffeine addiction going through the roof! (For those of you who don't know, I can drink quite a bit of coffee, and still drink energy drinks and what not. Its pretty bad the amount of caffeine I take in.) Also, this summer I found out how addicted I am to coffee; I actually get a headache if I don't have my morning coffee. Yes, it is bad. No, I don't plan on going cold turkey. I'd die of caffeine deprivation. Its what I need to make it through the day in a very sane matter.

Ok, so I am officially also freaking out about college but that I'll save for another free write post and now I leave you all with the age old question:
In what way should you watch the Star Wars movies? The Original Series first followed by the Prequels or Prequels first and watch em like a huge movie?

Adrienne's Ever So Free-Write :D

Hayyyy thurrr!! Jk, jk. Hey there! I know it's been a while since any of us have posted and we didn't exactly tell you why... But we all decided that we were gonna take a short leave of absence in our writing mainly because we were all so stressed with schoolwork... Well, we said we'd be continuing in the summer, but we all got kinda busy and Loz didn't get out of school for summer until the beginning of this month. ...Sucks for you, Lauren. Haha. Just kidding. I love you. So next month we'll all be starting school again, but I think that we'll still be writing our posts during the school year. Hopefully we will.

So we're just gonna start off with our free-writes. I'm sure you guys know that the three of us are youtube freaks. Yes. So it's been a week and I'm ALREADY in 5AG (FiveAwesomeGirls) withdrawal. Ughhhhhhhh!!! Haha. I think that's one thing that I usually look forward to in my day. Oh well... I guess it's just one month. *sigh*One week down, 3 more to go...

I've actually had a REALLY busy summer. Meaning, I went on vacation for 5 weeks this summer, spent a week at home, and then went to Bible camp. Now I'm stuck doing my summer studying and unfortunately, the rest of my summer homework.

I'm awfully sad that most of the shows I like to watch take breaks in the summer. Actually, the only summer show I watch is Make It or Break It. It's rather annoying that all of the GOOD shows, come on during the school year when I can't watch them because I'm busy trying to make it through the year. Rawr.

So Virginia and I have got registration for school on Tuesday, which is ALWAYS fun. So the school system came up with our schedules and posted them on a website for us to see. Since they posted it up on one of the school system websites, everybody thought it was official. The reason why everybody everybody goes to registration is because they want their schedules, and since we already had them, I guess people thought that they didn't have to go. LOL. Fail. Then, a few days ago, there was a mass email that got sent out to all of the students at our school and it told us that we all HAD to go to registration because that wasn't necessarily our schedule. I mean, who would think that you didn't have to go to registration anyways? There's more to do at registration than getting our schedules (btw, the schedules didn't even have room numbers. so how are you gonna know where your class is?).

Anyways, I think I'll sign off here and Virginia's and Loz's post will be up... soon... XD

Lauren believes that British film is better. XD

Heard of Life on Mars? The Office? Queer as Folk? Whose Line is it Anyway?[?] Well, you can thank us lot for them [or not, depending on your views...]. And let’s be honest, our versions are better. Our Life on Mars stars dear John Simm, our version of The Office has Ricky Jervais and Martin Freeman [any of you guys The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fans?], our Queer as Folk um...ok, there you got me, I’ve never watched either version and they’re both created by the genius that is Russell T Davies...but what makes ours better is...Murray Gold! We’ve got Murray Gold to write music for us. Whose Line is it Anyway is alright over there, but our version is hosted by Clive Anderson and has the fantastical Stephen Fry guesting...though we also get a whole bunch of ‘mericans, and you guys are funny. ‘Cept I’ll see the same comedians on your version and they either won’t be as funny or they’ll do the same jokes [can’t really blame them I guess...]

So yeah, sorry guys, but British telly’s better...in some aspects. In other’s it’s not, e.g. you guys have a much bigger budget for your shows, take Lost for instance, the budget for the pilot alone was 16.9 million, and an average episode is about 4 million...I mean seriously! The Doctor Who budget is between 10 and 13 million a series [but don’t quote me on that...]

So that’s my section on British TV, I know it’s not very long or good but that’s ‘cause I’ve got something else to write about...Adrienne asked me to write about being an average British teen, well I’m not really an “average” British teen, I mean for one I’m completely obsessed with Doctor Who [not what you’d call “popular” in my school], I don’t drink, I don’t smoke [and I’m not suggesting that all British teens do smoke, but a lot do, including a friend of mine...don’t worry, I almost killed her when I found out], but I guess I do some normal things; I go to school, I spend far too much time watching TV and on Facebook. Also, like any other 15 year old in England I have exams coming up, lots of them. Only next week I have an RE [religion] GSCE, I have it on the last day of half term...in the afternoon...seriously....

I’m not one of those people who fusses about their appearance but I do care a bit, like I won’t go out in my pyjamas or a tracksuit. My hair needs to look at least alright. But most of the time I just stick to wearing jeans and t-shirts and trainers...

So yeah, Lozzy the teenager who doesn’t act like a teenager and instead acts like either a 4 year old or a 40 year old.

You love me anyway though :)

Adrienne here. Yes. So this week is blog PCR week again. Woot!

So this week's theme is ... drum roll pleaseeeee... Britain! Yayyyy!

So this week, I'm blogging about the music aspect of this topic and I'll talk about two British artists from youtube. (By the way, if we didn't tell you before, Lauren, Virginia, and I are actually really big youtube geeks. We're on youtube a lot. Actually, Lauren and Virginia have a youtube channel that they share called The Time Ladies... and I'll be putting a link to that at the end of this... [:)

The first artist that I want to talk about is named Alex Day, and he is known on youtube by the username "nerimon". If you haven't seen his videos, you really should check him out cause he's awesome. Link to his youtube page in the link section at the bottom. What? Alex Day sounds a bit familiar to you? The name rings a bell? Yea! It's actually because we have talked about him before on this blog. Alex Day is the mastermind behind trock, so the band that we talked about before for Doctor Who week, Chameleon Circuit, is a band that he's in. In case we didn't mention this earlier, the members of Chameleon Circuit include Alex, Charlie (charlieissocoollike on youtube), Chris, and Liam (littleradge on youtube). Yes. They are all British.

However, if trock isn't your thing (in which case, I don't know why it wouldn't be... :P), Alex Day also writes his own music. So far, he has had an album come out called "Parrot Stories" and another album come out called "117% Complete". "Parrot Stories" is mostly pop music, where he sings about romance and what not. "117% Complete" is about video games, featuring 3 songs.

On the "117% Complete" soundtrack there is a song about Sonic, a song about Pokemon, and a song about Mario Kart. They're actually really cool songs because he talks about all of the developments that they have added to the games.

"Parrot Stories" is more or less an album where he sings about love and romance. As a heads up, quite a few of the songs are actually sad songs (the lyrics) but they have upbeat accompanying music. XD

So the next artist that I wanna talk about is Tom Milsom and he is known on youtube as "hexachordal". Yes, I'll put a link to his youtube page in the link section too. Tom Milsom is from England as well.

Tom Milsom likes to write trock, but he also has another album out, that can be purchased on DFTBA records (link in the thingy at the bottom). His other album is called "Painfully Mainstream". This is an album with an assortment of music. My favourite part of that album is that he actually has a song for every season. Haha. He has a song called "Wintersong", another called "Summersong", another called "Springsong" and there is an "Autumnsong". This is actually really good music, but I think my favourite song on that album is probably "Indigo".

So, because it is really, really late here, I think I'm going to end this blog post and I'm going to go to bed. So, if you have anything to say, or if you have any questions, put it in the comments, and we'll get back to you. XD

Adrienne and Virginia combined this week... for television rants and facebook notes!

Adrienne:
So this is the part where I start ranting to you about how this week's Vampire Diaries episode really upset me. Okay. Really?! I LOVE Anna! She's a very, very good character, and she shouldn't have died! She is PERFECT for Jeremy! I mean, you kind of can blame it on Jeremy too, because he decided that he didn't want to change when he was there with Anna (the part where Anna tells him that he should change and run away with her). I was sooooo sad!!! I REALLY WANT THE WRITERS TO COME UP WITH A WAY TO MIRACULOUSLY BRING ANNA BACK!!! Now I just feel really bad for Jeremy because there's nobody for him and they spent all of that time building Anna's character, just to cut her off. I love her because she's misunderstood and she really has a good heart. Rawr. My favourite vampire is dead. Grawr. This was not a satisfying season finale. D:

Anyways. I started watching
Skins which is a British/Australian television show. If you're from America, in which case, most of you are, it's basically a crossover of Degrassi and Gossip Girl, except it's the British version. Personally, I like the 2nd generation kids more than I like the 1st generation kids, but hey. That's just me.

Virginia:
I follow two shows right now: Doctor Who, and Supernatural. This past Thursday was the season finale of Supernatural. Now, how did I feel about this season finale as opposed to the previous four season finales? I think Kripke could have done better, but I still loved it. Kripke left the door wide open for season six, and that I give the guy kudos for that. Now, I wont divulge everything about the season finale, but if you're a Sam girl/guy, or a Dean girl/guy, bring some tissue. Also, I wasn't entirely sure about the action that Kripke made Dean take at the end of the episode. I just feel he could have given Dean a taaaaad bit more angst, ya know, very a la season 2. Alas, I really do have high hopes for season 6. I hope we get more of a season 1 feel (the boys just hunting things like rugurus and shape shifter, and not so much apocalypse things.) As a fan, yes, I do feel as if Kripke has managed to close up the story line in season 5 very nicely, although again, not entirely sure about the last scene.

We do see Chuck the Prophet in this one and Castiel is bad ass again, oh and ya remember Adam (the illegitimate brother that most of us think would be a curse to add to the dynamic Winchester team) well yeah, he's back for a bit too. So in the end, its worth the time to watch, and it ends nicely I think.

Mr. Kripke, I salute you.. again.

Also! If you haven't already, GO AND GET THE DOCTOR WHO MAGAZINE
! It has some really cool things inside and hey, its worth it. Just be careful, cause some one might take it from ya.. and then you'll cry..

Adrienne, look! Im a good girl! I wrote my blog and what not :)

13. I like to get lost in my own world and thoughts. When I can't sleep at night I'll often start thinking about what I wish would happen and I often end up writing little stories in my mind, that I will be extremely proud of, but have forgotten the next day.
14. When faced with a large empty space I feel the need to run.
If I'm with someone I'll take their hand and make them run with me.
If I'm alone I'll still run.
15. I hate Twilight
16. I wear glasses
17. If I'm listening to music while walking, I'll walk to the beat and pretend I'm a music video. I do not intend to stop.
18. I've listened to the live versions of some songs so much the studio versions just sound wrong...
19. I hate those people who say "I'm sooooo random!!11! loooool!" etc
20. I am madly in love with David Tennant
21. Whenever I walk past the church on the end of my road I think of Withnail & I (best.film.ever!) because of the quote "Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice and day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell"...I mainly think this because the clock no longer works, and so is a stopped clock.
22. I often get weird looks when walking down the street on my own because people can quite clearly hear what I'm listening to, despite headphones. And sometimes I'll be listening to radio shows like I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue or The Now Show (Radio 4 comedy is amazing), and people hear cheering, laughter and clapping and think I'm a bit odd. Also the music I listen to isn't exactly what most people in Manchester/Levenshulme listen to...
23. I get obsessed to things easily, but these obsessions often sort of fade-away, but many haven't.
24. I'm addicted to Tic Tacs, my friends call them Vicodin in reference to my House obsession
25. I often make random connections to things in films and tv shows, so my friends could be talking about something and I'll just start shouting about how in Harold and Maude, Harold plays a banjo.

So yeah, there's 25 facts about me...I was going to fill the rest of this space with another Facebook note but..what? You want me to?

Virginia really LOVES Trock... and really wants that video game...

Hey there!! So seems you've all met Lauren now (which is good!) and ya'll better get used to her, because she's the newest member of this awkward thing we lovingly call a blog aaaaand there is your awesome surprise! Yay! Ok! Down to business! This week's theme, if you hadn't already guessed it, is Doctor Who. Also, in case you hadn't gathered already, I'm a HUGE Doctor Who fan.

So therefore, without any further ado, lets talk about TROCK.

So, first of, what is TROCK? Trock means Timelord Rock, and its essentially songs about Doctor Who, whether it be the characters or the adventures, or if its told from a third person view, or from a character view (TARDIS included). TROCK was created by Alex Day, who later formed the first TROCK band called Chameleon Circuit, with friends from Youtube. Bands in the TROCK genre usually name themselves based off a favourite episode, or a distinguishing feature from the show. For example, Chameleon Circuit gets their name from the part inside the TARDIS that no longer works (the part that is supposed to change the appearance of the TARDIS when it lands to blend in) and therefore the TARDIS is permanently the recognizable blue police box. The album TROCK ON! (which is really good and you all should definitely spend your money on right here *adrienne will be lovely and post the link on the DFTBA site kthnx*) http://dftba.com/shop/products/Trock-On!-%5BCD%5D.html was released and it has various artists like Chameleon Circuit (a personal favorite) and also Quantum Locked (another personal favorite). On the album you will also find a song called "Lloyd In the Void". Ok! All those die hard Doctor Who fans will remember two characters mentioned (Ianto and Jack) from certain episodes (and Gwen too) (ya know.. Journey's End?). Ya'll gotta understand that these wonderful names (Especially Ianto...) are from the TV series Torchwood.. but I'll get into that later on when we get Torchwood week! BUT yes, they still apply under the category of TROCK...because they were featured in the show at least once.. just.. roll with it kay? TROCK is, yes, like WROCK, except waaaaaay less Harry Potter and waaaaaaay more Doctor Who. XD

And now, I have a lovely little surprise..

Its the AMAZING SUPER DUPER MYSTERY THINGY!!!
:D yay!!!

I was lucky enough to get it this week (woot! go video gamer chics!) And there is a reason why I just mentioned that bit.. and more than likely why Adrienne was convinced I could hold this great responsibility.

Ok my die hard gamers and lovers of Doctor Who... you breathing alright? Good, cause what I'm about to tell you is going to make you squeal in delight.
Ok, so! BBC has announced that they will be releasing a Doctor Who one hour interactive series (just a fancy word for game) that will be compatible with both PC and Mac (yay!! finally!!). Charles Cecil was game designer, and the developing fun of it all will be handled by Sumo Digital, who many may remember have done other Who games. Fun parts! The two hour interactive series will be released on June 2010 (yes.. start the countdown!) and will be available for free download on BBC.
Don't wanna believe it? Too good to be true!?!
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6257275.html?tag=result%3Btitle%3B0
no really.. its true.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and last of your weekend, and have a great week day.. and yes, I'll bother you later in the week I'm sure.. I just don't know what else to do you see. *TARDIS noise* Oh! My ride is here, see ya all later, or before.. depends how you look at time, you see it isn't linear its actually a wibbly wobbly... ... *TARDIS noise* *fades away*

Lauren's Doctor Who Books=Love... wait... Lauren?!

Oh hai! I’m Lauren and none of you expected to see me here! I’m here because Ginny and Adrienne invited me to, I totally didn’t bribe them, nope.

I should probably start by introducing myself yeah? I, as I stated before, am Lauren, or Lozzy. I’m 15 and live in Manchester...in England...y’know, that little island in Europe? Here, look!

Know where I mean now? ...what d’you mean you already knew? ...shh

So, this week’s theme is Doctor Who, and if I do say so myself I’m a bit of a Who expert [y’thought those two were geeky, just you wait], I’ve been watching it since I was little, but I’m probably more clued-up on the newer series. Though I do know stuff ‘bout the old ones, and if I want to know something I could always ask my father [Whovian since it was first aired].
Because I’m the only one with proper access to Doctor Who books I shall be writing this week’s book bit. I’m currently reading a DW book called “Only Human” by Gareth Roberts [The Shakespeare Code, The Unicorn and the Wasp] and is set when Christopher Eccleston, Billie Piper and John Barrowman were the occupants of our dear blue box. I’m about ¾ of the way through, and so far it’s very good :] If not lacking in Jackness...

I’ve read a number of Who books [about 12 full books, 1 short story, 1 “Decide Your Destiny” and a few Torchwood books too, but I’ll talk about them during the (inevitable) Torchwood week] and each one of them has been very good, my favourite is probably “Beautiful Chaos” by Gary Russell [Who also wrote the brilliant Torchwood book The Twilight Streets], it features The Tenth Doctor, Donna Noble and Wilf Mott, all of whom are fantastic, amazing, brilliant, hilarious characters who I love very much :]

The writers of the books have often been involved in Doctor Who or Torchwood before, either writing for Doctor Who Magazine, or like dear Gareth Russell, actually writing or co-writing episodes of everyone’s favourite classic BBC sci-fi show. This means that they’ve got a brilliant knack of capturing the characters in a way that even the best fanfiction writers can’t. But maybe that’s all these book are, fan fic that doesn’t mess around with canon and that the BBC has actually commissioned.. .

Well, I was going to write some stuff about the history of the Doctor Who books here ‘cause I remember reading something about it in an issue of Doctor Who Magazine, yet I can’t find the bit I needed [even after searching through about 100 magazines looking for the specific one I wanted, typically, it was right at the bottom...]
On a side note, it’s very difficult to write about Doctor Who when listening to this

xD

Um, this has gone on quite a while and not very much of it actually told you about Doctor Who books...oops.
So I’ll end by saying; READ THEM! If you see one at a book fair? Grab it! [pay for it obviously] If you know a friend who owns one? Borrow it!
Also, if you’ve never actually watched Doctor Who I suggest you do so before reading the books, otherwise lotsa stuff won’t make sense.
But the books reveal things y’wouldn’t know if y’just watched the show, e.g. The TARDIS has a swearing filter [never wondered why no-one swears, despite the danger they’re in? Exactly]. I don’t think it works in Torchwood ;)

Adrienne is film... and we will have a SURPRISE!

Ahhhh!!!!! AP exams are finally over for me!!! WOOT!!! I'm sorry.

Okayyy! So this week officially starts blog PCR week! Yay! So we are very excited and this week, our topic is... ... ... ...

DOCTOR WHO WEEK!!!

Yay!! 5 out of 3 stars for Doctor Who!

Sooo... This week, we decided that I was going to talk about the film aspect of Doctor Who. For those of you who don't actually know what Doctor Who is, it's basically a British television show that is streamed on BBC about time and space travel. That, by the way, is an EXTREMELY simplified version as to what Doctor Who is. So, I'm going to explain this to you in more detail.

There is a man named the Doctor, and he is a timelord. He is from the planet Gallifrey and he travels in a "police box" called the TARDIS. The TARDIS is what he time and space travels in. He likes to travel with companions and they have all sorts of cool adventures. (This is also a simplified version of Doctor Who, but the point is to get you to watch the show... so, I am not going to tell you everything about it. XD )

Anyways, if you do watch Doctor Who *coughlaurencough*, what have you thought about this new series so far? Any thoughts about Matt Smith and Karen Gillan? We seem to think that they'd make a good couple in real life. Also, in the show, I think that Amy and the Doctor really balance each other out perfectly, so I think that the writers and the producers really did a good job with that. Yay! If you watch, but you don't keep up with BBC UK, but instead, you keep up with BBC America, I don't want to spoil anything for you. However, I will say that the end of the 5th episode is really, really funny.

I know that there are some people who really don't like Matt Smith and want to give up on Doctor Who because they don't like the new cast or what they have done with the show, but I would encourage you to watch some more of the episodes before you make your decision of whether or not you're going to give up on it. Maybe you'll grow to like Matt Smith and Karen Gillan as much as you liked the other Doctors.

Well... I'm really sorry that this was such a terrible post, but it is REALLY late here, but... we really want to know what you think! Tell us if you've seen Doctor Who before and what you think and tell us what you think of the new series (if you've seen it).

Also, this is VERY IMPORTANT! We actually have a surprise for you guys. We'll have that up for you later on this week (yes, I know the week is almost over, but, it will go up this week!) and we hope you enjoy that because you'll have no choice... Nah. I think you'll love your surprise. It's AWESOME!

Virginia's Excited about CoD...

So as Adrienne was rambling (wait im sorry.. she was beautifully writing) about, we are going to choose a theme every other week, and pick an area of pop culture to talk about. Here, an example. Say for one week, for the theme, we choose, oh I dunno, my current obsession of green tea with citrus (seriously try it). Then, Adrienne and I will choose an area to talk about, like say I take music and mystery, and Adrienne takes movies and books. Then, I will talk about music and whatever mystery piece of pop culture that has green tea with citrus in its lyrics, or its based around it, and Adrienne will do that same for her areas. We will have a mystery one every week!! Haha! Aren't we soooo cool! Books, movies, and music will always be constant, but for mystery, it could be something like a video game or a cool picture/video we found.

Now, in all seriousness. This means, every other week, Adrienne and I will blog about the top as it pertains to the forementioned major areas in pop culture that we have chosen, plus one of us shall do a 'mystery' category as we deem appropriate. The topics that we do will always change from person to person, so neither of us will always be stuck with the same two topics.

Now you may ask "Well, Ginny, what about the other weeks when you dont have a theme!". Well, young grasshopper, thats an outstanding question! (10 points to the muggle house now please). The other weeks we will blog about the geekery we find online :)

Ya see how simple that is?

So now! I would like to point all video gamer eyes to this beautiful link: http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/plugged-in/next-call-of-duty-game-revealed/1397976
oh yes, I just showed you what all us first person shooter gamers were waiting for: the trailer for the new Call of Duty!!

So yes, start saving that money. It's going to be called Call of Duty: Black OPS, and it's going to be made by Treyarch, who you may remember as the creators of the ever so wonderful Call of Duty: World at War.

Now! Call of Duty: Black Ops, is apparently going to be set behind enemy lines (yes, thank you activison.. soooo much detail there lovies)

Now, apparently the people from Treyarch are saying the spent loads of time on the multi-player modes on this game, single-player, and of course Co-Op to make this game amazing-tacular. We'll see, but after Modern Warfare 2, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say they've got a lot to live up to (seriously, have you played the Multi-player on that game? It's amazing). It's speculated that CoD: Black Ops will take place in Vietnam, but if you watch the trailer, it's not very clear so.. we're just gonna have to wait and see.

And thats kinda it for me...

Adrienne is a bit late... Sorry!!! XD

So. There is definitely NO SCHOOL today!! Woot! I'm uber excited right now... because at the moment, I'm a bit sick of school. Ironically, I am spending today and tomorrow (there's no school tomorrow either) studying like a crazy person for AP exams and other exams that I get to look forward to. Yay me.

So I started watching Glee today because my sister and friends kind of suckered me into watching it. Actually, it's a decent show. For those of you who actually watch Glee, is anybody else upset that Finn isn't with Rachel, but instead Jesse is with Rachel? I mean, I still have a bad feeling about Jesse's intentions. Rawr Rawr! Finn and Rachel! But. Moving on with my life.

Anyways, today, I went to the library to do some research and to pick up some books for the research paper that I have to write. My topic is about Chinese, Korean, and Japanese American Struggles: Past and Present, so naturally, I had to go to the 6th floor, where all of the social science books are. Yea. So I went up to the reference desk on the 6th floor and asked if they could help me find the books on the list that I had written down. The guy at the reference desk looks at the list and he tells me "no". I was asking myself why he was at work if he just refused to help me find a book. I mean, it's his job! So instead of being able to find all of my books in about 15 minutes, it took about 45 to find the books I needed for my paper. Whatever. At least the other people at that library are nice. :/

So Virginia and I are really excited to tell you about what we're gonna start doing every other week. If you all are youtube geeks like we are, you may have heard of a channel called PCR, or Pop Culture Revival. If you've seen it, awesome. If you haven't, you should watch it. They no longer post videos on that channel anymore, although I really wish they did. What Ginny and I want to do on this blog is do something like that. Basically, we will choose a theme and we will pick a piece of pop culture to review. Aaaaand, I'm going to let Virginia explain the rest of the information on how we're going to format our version of PCR when she puts up her next post!

Virginia, I'm really sorry that this post is like a day late!!! I tried to put this up last night, but then I got yelled at for being up too late!! So this is going up today!! XD

PS- This was meant to be a Wednesday post, but it's actually going up Thursday. I don't know why this thing is being weird and saying that it's Tuesday...

Hey! It's Ginny and Adrienne! Join us for the Ride!

Hello there! I'm Ginny (as a fore mentioned, its a coincidence that its my nickname and this blog happens to have the references it does). I'm a geek and proud of it. I'm a huge fan of Doctor Who, Torchwood, Supernatural, Star Wars, really the list is quite extensive. I'm a big video gamer. I mean really big. I was playing video games before it was cool for girls to play video games (and it was used as a tacky pick up line.. ladies... please).Which means, my role on here (besides being me..) is to bring in some more video games. I'm also very fond of movies and music. I will watch just about anything, aside from romance and romantic comedies.. seriously.. *shivers* I'm just not a fan of those.I do like to ramble so therefore, ADRIENNE will have to edit my stuff (she knows she really likes editing such things right, Adrienne?) You'll all come to see that when it comes to words, Adrienne is way better at that. When it comes to video games and making things blow up on CoD, I'm better at that. We make a pretty good team.

So I'm Adrienne. I live in Chicago, IL. I'm kind of a city kid but I also enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Yea. So I'm basically like one of those kids that really like different cultures and places, hence, there are A LOT of places in the world that I would LOVE to visit. For instance, I really want to visit South Korea, the UK, Spain, Italy, Latin America, etc.

I'm basically an instrumental music geek, although my primary instrument is the clarinet. I really enjoy all instruments and I really like music theory. I'm not like Ginny, who plays video games excessively. Really, the only "video game" I play a lot is DDR (Dance, Dance Revolution). Indeed, I do spend a lot of time on the internet, unless my internet decides that it wants to give out on me... However, I am really in to Doctor Who and Harry Potter! I do watch a lot of movies and I love to listen to music. I appreciate all kinds of music, usually, and unlike Ginny, I do read some romance novels and watch some romance movies. I am really geeky, but as far as geeky, Virginia is more so than I. Actually I'm nerdy and I find that I like to talk about things that nobody cares about. If you get me started on something I like, I like to ramble about it, so Ginny's not the only one.

Although, there are some differences in the personalities of the two of us, we actually have a LOT in common. And we're here to share our similarities and differences with the rest of the internet world, should you decide to read our blog. So this whole blog right here is just a form for the two of us to share things we find on the internet, or in some other source and put it out there for our fellow nerds and geeks. We do spend a lot of time on the internet and youtube in general, so we do come across a lot of random things. And to be honest, we may ramble on here a bit from time to time. Yes, this blog will be full of geekery and nerdiness and full out references that some people will not get. But every once in a while, we'll write a post that makes sense to the rest of the world, like on a movie or something. I think the best advice I can give you guys is to just roll with that we say, you might have loads of fun. If you understand what we're saying or what not, please, join us! And slowly, but surely, nerds/geeks will take over the world!
