Heard of Life on Mars? The Office? Queer as Folk? Whose Line is it Anyway?[?] Well, you can thank us lot for them [or not, depending on your views...]. And let’s be honest, our versions are better. Our Life on Mars stars dear John Simm, our version of The Office has Ricky Jervais and Martin Freeman [any of you guys The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fans?], our Queer as Folk um...ok, there you got me, I’ve never watched either version and they’re both created by the genius that is Russell T Davies...but what makes ours better is...Murray Gold! We’ve got Murray Gold to write music for us. Whose Line is it Anyway is alright over there, but our version is hosted by Clive Anderson and has the fantastical Stephen Fry guesting...though we also get a whole bunch of ‘mericans, and you guys are funny. ‘Cept I’ll see the same comedians on your version and they either won’t be as funny or they’ll do the same jokes [can’t really blame them I guess...]
So yeah, sorry guys, but British telly’s better...in some aspects. In other’s it’s not, e.g. you guys have a much bigger budget for your shows, take Lost for instance, the budget for the pilot alone was 16.9 million, and an average episode is about 4 million...I mean seriously! The Doctor Who budget is between 10 and 13 million a series [but don’t quote me on that...]
So that’s my section on British TV, I know it’s not very long or good but that’s ‘cause I’ve got something else to write about...Adrienne asked me to write about being an average British teen, well I’m not really an “average” British teen, I mean for one I’m completely obsessed with Doctor Who [not what you’d call “popular” in my school], I don’t drink, I don’t smoke [and I’m not suggesting that all British teens do smoke, but a lot do, including a friend of mine...don’t worry, I almost killed her when I found out], but I guess I do some normal things; I go to school, I spend far too much time watching TV and on Facebook. Also, like any other 15 year old in England I have exams coming up, lots of them. Only next week I have an RE [religion] GSCE, I have it on the last day of half term...in the afternoon...seriously....
I’m not one of those people who fusses about their appearance but I do care a bit, like I won’t go out in my pyjamas or a tracksuit. My hair needs to look at least alright. But most of the time I just stick to wearing jeans and t-shirts and trainers...
So yeah, Lozzy the teenager who doesn’t act like a teenager and instead acts like either a 4 year old or a 40 year old.
You love me anyway though :)
